La Porte, Colorado 80535
Sunday morning church service from the La Porte Church of Christ,
La Porte, Colorado, with Pastor Peter J. Peters,
and the La Porte Church of Christ congregation singers.
SCRIPTURAL INSIGHT STUDY
You gotta have faith and believe, as "Desert Pete" primed the pump,
taking action on his faith.
Fight the fight of faith.
Faith is taking action on what you believe.
James 2, "The demons also believe and shudder."
As a result of the works, faith was perfected.
Galatians 5:6.
1 Thessalonians 1:3.
John 6, Jesus called faith a work.
SINGING PRAISE AND WORSHIP.
COMMUNION SUPPER EXHORTATION
Try to be faithful in the taking of communion.
Be honorable to our King Jesus.
Luke 19:17, "Faithful in a very little thing..."
You don't become a man of authority without being honorable.
Luke 16:10, "Is faithful also in much..."
It's an unrighteous thing to dishonor Him.
Football fans suffer with cold, to cheer and yell.
An honorable man who devotes every Sunday to honor King Jesus,
is referred to as a fanatic by the world.
Satan is a serpent, and when he bites, he puts poison in you.
He inflicts the poison of bitterness.
Prayer for neutralization of the bitterness poison within us.
SERMON NOTES for October 25, 2009.
Todays' message title, "GETTING GREATER FAITH - PART TWO."
2 Timothy 3:5, "Avoid such men as these."
They deny the power.
Hebrews 6:3, "The powers of the age to come."
The world calls it, "The New Age."
We're coming into that new age.
Looking at power, and we learn that faith is power.
A war between good and evil, and most are spell cast into the matrix.
To the natural man, it looks like evil is winning.
We are working on a bomb, with blueprints,
but you must get the key ingredients.
Message subtitle: "THE MAIN MISSING INGREDIENT."
The preacher took some very tough university classes,
and he was admonished by the professors,
"You better not miss class, and take notes in class,
and keep up or you will lose out and flunk the final exam."
The same admonition applies to getting greater faith.
Keep up, study, and take notes, as you better get down these concepts of faith.
A fast review of the previous, "Getting Greater Faith," message.
There is great faith and there is little faith.
Great faith is in quantity and quality.
Increase it or lose it.
Get it while the getting is good.
Psalm 32:6, "Pray to Thee in a time..."
Get it when the sea is calm, because during the storm it will be too late.
Get something of value in life by goal setting, and striving to attain the goals.
Getting it by going after it, as in getting greater faith, strive for it.
Get rid of the cop out, "Yes, but....!"
Everything Jesus did, He did it as a man, with faith.
Use the "I Am" confessional booklet.
"I am a child of God."
The "Annie Get Your Guns" musical song lyrics review.
"Anything you can do I can do better."
We sing to Jesus from our hearts, and He will agree with us.
"Greater works than these you will do."
The congregation sings, "Yes I can!"
Satan says "No you can't."
John 14:12, "Because I go to the Father."
KJV and faith in the unseen, Hebrews 11:1.
He did it by looking at the unseen. Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Jesus said, "I can do nothing unless..."
John 5:19, "Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner."
Where is the Father. He is in the unseen.
The natural and the supernatural.
Colossians 1:16, "For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-- all things have been created through Him and for Him."
Some things are invisible.
The early years doctor figured out there were germs. They were invisible.
Demons are invisible.
Conduits allow demons to come into the physical realm.
People are dressing up in Halloween costumes as demons.
This opens up the conduits for demons,
as it is with rock music and television.
The Centurion was singled out, because he never saw, heard, nor greeted Jesus.
He was a fighter, with humility, loving, in authority, with honor,
taking action, with discipline and command.
Things enhance and inhibit the power of faith.
Faith is acting on what you believe.
Hidden faith secrets.
Occult knowledge available to you.
Occult means secret.
Through years of schooling you can get it.
Faith is much to powerful to be the hands.
The wise are prudent, as is our God.
Proverbs 12:23, "A prudent man conceals knowledge."
It is prudent not to tell everything you know.
Don't be a faith fool!
Exercise some prudence.
Proverbs 22:3, "The prudent sees the evil and hides himself, But the naive go on, and are punished for it."
Last Friday night, the socialist communist signed another national Emergency,
giving them more powers.
The prudent takes a situation seriously when he sees danger.
Fear gives you fight or flight impulse energy.
Discretion is the greater part of valor.
Jesus prudently fled danger.
Matthew 12:14-15. Don't be a faith fool.
Matthew 4:12, "Withdrew into Galilee."
Proverbs 27:12, "A prudent man sees evil and hides himself, The naive proceed and pay the penalty."
Pray, "Deliver me from evil."
Become discrete and wise, and not as faith fools.
Faith secrets are hidden, but why and where?
In plain sight, they are hidden.
Matthew 11:25, "At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes."
Faith is much too powerful to be in the hands of the so-called intelligent.
1 Corinthians 1:26-27, "For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,"
The wise, mighty and noble of this world are not called.
Cowboy logic says it's best not to get too wise.
If He hides the faith secrets from the wise, then best not be wise in your own eyes.
Proverbs 3:7, "Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and turn away from evil."
The missing main ingredient.
The ladies want the good recipe, but it doesn't taste the same,
as the author left something out.
Some women don't want you to have the whole list of main ingredients.
The preacher knows how to cook Cream O' Wheat.
When he first started cooking it, he left out the missing ingredient, which is salt.
Jesus has hidden the secret ingredient, and hidden it in plain sight.
Hidden occult knowledge, takes years of schooling to get.
The Centurion had it.
The key ingredient, we don't come by naturally, and don't have enough normally.
It has been secretly given and hidden in plain sight.
Luke 17:5-10. "Increase our faith.....it would obey you...prepare something...
afterward you will eat and drink....."
Ingredient missing will lock you into the flock, as sheep are flock animals,
always wanting to be a part of the flock.
Natural and supernatural.
The natural man sees the elemental things of this world,
and not the unseen supernatural things.
1 Corinthians 2:14, "But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised."
Sheep don't want to appear as fools, but rather as a part of the flock.
The natural man doesn't want to appear like a fool.
The storm illustration at the Radio-Ranch, and practice what you preach, Pete!
Last week the storm was thwarted through the rebuke by the preacher.
He commanded the storm to stop and it did.
Seth was the only one that saw him do this.
This week, sorting the cattle through the shoots, and it was a fight.
The last cow was snorting and blowing, as Peter wanted to cuss her, but he
said, "In the name of Jesus Christ, get in there!" and she walked right in."
We don't want to be appearing like a fool,
but we want to be accepted in the flock.
A spider web hanging down on a walker, and making a move to avoid it,
to the point of looking foolish, as others don't see the web,
and the likelihood of becoming entangled in it.
The world doesn't see the unseen.
How did Jesus appear to the flock?
They called him the village idiot and the radical, as He thinks He's the Son of God.
Some will see you as foolish, and not as a part of the flock.
Some accused Him of being demon possessed.
Walking along and talking to no one, but Jesus spoke to His Father,
yet the matrix lock-in's would think this as foolish.
Luke 17:5-10, there in plain sight, as the secrets are hidden there in plain sight.
He said, "You would say," and not merely to think.
When you pray, say!
When you pray, say them out loud, and maybe in the prayer closet.
Whisper the prayers like Hannah, when the priest thought she was drunk.
The Lord can hear real good.
A T-shirt logo, "If a man speaks in the woods and there is no woman around,
is he still wrong?"
Learn authority and authority commands, "Storm stop!"
The Lord said, "Anything I can do you can do."
He climbed on the colt that had never been ridden before.
He commanded.
The ingredient you need is humility.
Right there in plain sight.
Say "I am an unworthy servant."
Jesus is the Alpha and Omega.
"I am an unworthy servant(but I am a servant)."
Matthew 20:24-28, Jesus was a humble servant and He served.
"Great men exercise authority over them.......shall be your slave...
give His life as a ransom."
Jesus was a man, a servant man, and a humble man.
Romans 15:8, "For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers."
Even after He has already ascended, He is still a servant, as the Alpha and Omega.
Write in there, "I am an unworthy servant."
"I am humble." and we all know that ain't true, and they will call the preacher a liar.
Rather write in the confessional, "I am being humbled."
"Humble yourself under the Mighty Hand of God."
There are ways to get it. Write it in your "I am," confessional.
Music helps you get a truth in your life.
Here's a new song to help you practice getting humility.
"O Lord it's Hard To Be Humble," a re-write of the Mac Davis song.
"O Lord, it's a joy to be humble, as You're perfect in every way."
"You perfect us in every way."
Get that humility, as a main ingredient of faith, like the Centurion.
"Lord, I am an unworthy servant."
Our King came to serve, and He does serve, as He got down on His knees
and washed the feet of His apostles.
That Man of Galilee washed their stinkin' feet to show His servant humility.
Stay caught up, as there will be a test.
A test of faith in your life. If you fail the first one,
then you will be allowed to take it again.
The higher learning is called, "The School of Hard Knocks."
It has taken the preacher many years to acquire these hidden secret ingredients to faith, all of which have been hidden in plain sight.
Humble yourself or be humbled.
You will be humble in order to pass that faith test.
Faith to move mountains, acting on what we believe, and the hidden ingredients to
activate the power of Satan stomping, snake crushing, mountain moving faith.
Closing prayer in accordance with Numbers 6:24-26.
